The Experience
Blast Your Own Quarry is exactly what it says. You turn up at Puddle Duck Quarry on the first Saturday of the month, you sign a waiver that would make a solicitor weep, and Molly Grimshaw hands you a detonator.
Then you blow up part of a quarry.
There is no metaphor. There is no wellness component. You are not "releasing energy" or "connecting with the landscape." You are detonating explosive charges in a limestone quarry face in Derbyshire. The bang is real. The dust is real. The ringing in your ears is real.
Molly took over from her older brother, "Dusty" Dave Grimshaw, who stepped back from the programme after what the family describe as "personal issues" and what everyone else in Wokesworth describes as "the incident with the caravan." She brought a PhD in Chemistry, a third-degree black belt in Shotokan karate, and an approach to customer service that can best be described as "unapologetic."
The programme has been running for three generations. Bookings are currently filled through November 2029. There is no waiting list because Molly doesn't believe in them. She believes in punctuality, controlled explosions, and not asking stupid questions.

Meet Molly

3rd Generation — Grimshaw family have been blasting at Puddle Duck since the quarry opened.
PhD, Chemistry — She knows exactly what she's doing. Which somehow makes it worse.
3rd Dan, Shotokan Karate — Relevant only insofar as nobody argues with her.
Polly Grimshaw — Molly's identical twin. Quarry family historian. Documents every blast. Has not missed one since 1978.
"Dusty" Dave Grimshaw ran the programme before stepping back. The family say it was personal. Wokesworth says it was the caravan. Either way, his little sister's in charge now, and nobody's complaining. Not twice, anyway.
